This month we meet Don Mundy

One of my earliest memories is my father “helping” me build a model - I was maybe five years old at the time.  We built a number of models together, and I took over more and more of the building as time went by.  Most of these early models were aircraft, as my father was an Air Force pilot at the time.

As I grew older and discovered other interests, I gradually stopped building, and would not resume the hobby for many years.  When the pressures of career and family finally eased to the point where I had a significant amount of spare time, I went back to the hobby.  This time I concentrated on military vehicles, especially tanks, because my time in the Army had left me with many memories of them.

When I retired and moved to The Villages modeling became my primary hobby, since I can enjoy it in the comfort of my air conditioning.  One room of my home has become my modeling workshop, and an entire wall of the living room has been taken over by a floor to ceiling display case.
